Welcome to Transfer-Net - The Technology-Transfer Network
The project „Transfer-Net“ is aimed at the development and implementation of an internet-based online platform as a communication basis for all aspects of technology transfer. Platform users from science and business as well as technology-transfer supporters present themselves and their fields of work. In addition to that, they specify details on co-operation offers and requests, present extant transfer co-operations and projects, and can trigger active communication processes using intelligent features of the online platform. Users are thus able to quickly find decision makers and experts in science and business, directly reach contact persons in universities and enterprises, explore peers of potential contact persons, and present themselves in a professional environment. This network exclusively caters for and appeals to people (not institutions). That is because in the end it depends on individual persons if and how technology transfer becomes reality in practice.
Target groups are affiliates of universities and research institutions, entrepreneurs and enterprise personnel, as well as technology-transfer supporters like technology-transfer officers at universities, extra-university technology-transfer institutions, or alumni of the universities in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
By taking appropriate measures, this project is meant to motivate the target groups to use the internet platform for their technology-transfer activities. Therefore, preliminary studies will be undertaken to empirically explore the expectations and ideas of the target groups. The platform should be designed in a way that leads to emergence of co-operations which, in turn, significantly raise the number of technology-transfer projects in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. After the termination of the project, the online-platform is planned to be enhanced in order to acquire users in Europe and worldwide, thus raising the attractiveness of the platform as well as the probability for successful mediation of co-operation partners.
