14. Mai 2009 - Forum "Wirtschaft trifft Wissenschaft" (Rostock)

Aiming at stimulation of co-operation between scientists at universities and other research institutes and enterprises in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the "Unternehmerverband Rostock und Umgebung e.V." and the University of Rostock's "IuK Wissenschaftsverbund" invited to the forum "Wirtschaft trifft Wissenschaft". Representatives of government departments explained their subsidies policy as well as their goals regarding research and education. Scientists of the University of Rostock gave an overview of current research projects and submitted offers to the business representatives. Astrid Böge took the chance to present the Transfer-Net project and discuss the audience's questions.
 


 
16. April 2009 - Innovationskongress (Rostock)

The first Rostock innovation congress was hosted by the "Rostock denkt 365°" initiative concerned with the strategic partnership of science and business. The congress was prepared by representatives of enterprises and research institutions as well as associations and chambers. The goal and purpose was to discuss opportunities for effective cooperations between science and business as well as inherent chances regarding e.g. product development, personnel transfer and further education. Frank Büttner of FMV e.V. introduced idea and results of the project "Transfer-Net". Other speakers presented further current transfer and cooperation projects from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and discussed several forms of further education for enterprises.
 


 
06. April 2009 - Gala "Technik für Menschen" (Rostock)

At the Informatik-Gala 2009, the University of Rostock's Department of Informatics and Electrical engineering showed how much fun computer science can be and which fields are researched by its scientists. The short-film presentations of projects from several research institutes were framed by live concerts of the San Glaser Band and Joja Wendt. The "Transfer-Net" people took the chance to present themselves to a large and interested audience. Frank Büttner, CEO of FMV e.V., and Dr. Holger Meyer of the Chair of Database and Information systems, answered the host's questions. The event was part of the "Rostock denkt 365°" initiative aiming at improvement of public reception of science in Rostock.
 


 
20./21. März 2009 - deGUT Deutsche Gründer- und Unternehmertage (Berlin)

Our team member Astrid Böge took the chance to visit and participate in one of the biggest German exhibitions for business start-ups and entrepreneurship. On offer were more than 60 seminars and workshops, covering all relevant aspects of founding an enterprise like planning, finance, marketing and distribution. Accomplished experts from various fields were ready to give advice to interested visitors who could also enjoy live presentations of successful entrepreneurs or take in the offers by numerous exhibitors from all over Germany.
 


 
12./13. November 2008 - First Statusseminar (Dresden)

Our project's executing organisation, Projektträger Jülich (PTJ), had invited to the 1st status seminar of the winners of the innovation contest "Business meets Science". The seminar was hosted by the Fraunhofer IWS in Dresden. The central goal of this seminar was the presentation of the funded projects as well as to provide an opportunity for exchange of experiences. Beyond that, participants had the chance to personally meet representitives of the contest's jury and PTJ.
 


 
16. September 2008 - Third Informatik-Gala „Zukunftsmusik“ (Putbus)

Three years ago, the island of Rügen based IT Science Center started a series of events called "Zukunftsmusik". The goal of these events is to present their own and the universities' IT projects in an entertaining and understandable way. This year's event was part of the federal contest "365 Orte im Land der Ideen". Short films and talk sessions represents the Zukunft/Future part of the event. The live-music part is meant to provide mental recovery from the complex science projects. Transfer-Net was represented with a 3 minute film. After this, Dr Holger Meyer of the University of Rostock, answered the host's questions.
 


 
21. Mai 2008 - Kick-Off-Meeting

Project team and leaders meet for Transfer-Net’s kick-off workshop. The participants discussed the technology-transfer market’s current situation as well as requirements and ideas for the online platform. Additionally, questions regarding the project’s in-depth contents and handling task responsibilities were considered. The main outcome of this meeting was an plan scheduling the activities for the first six months. 
 


 
01. April 2008 - Project start

Things got started. „Transfer-Net“, a joint project of the University of Rostock and Forschungsverbund M-V, succeeded in the federal innovation context „Business meets Science“ and will be funded with EUR 500,000 until the end of 2010. In the next three years, Susanne Biermann, Astrid Böge and Jörg Zimmermann are to develop an internet platform which shall serve as a communication base for all fields of know-how and research transfer.
